Star Alliance is the largest airline alliance in the world. It consists of 28 airlines. It was founded on March 14, 1997. The main line of the alliance is German Lufthansa. The Alliance transports approximately 623 million passengers annually (29% share in the aviation market), serving 1167 airports in 181 countries around the world.
PLL LOT Virtual has been a member of the virtual Star Alliance since February 2008. Star Alliance allows our crews to fly on special terms within the VATSIM network.
Our crews can use and perform flights as part of a common connection network of each member of the alliance. Detailed flight rules under the Star Alliance are set out in the Statute of the Alliance.
Star Alliance is not only a shared connection network. Thanks to the alliance, LOT Polish Airlines has gained partners with whom joint events, flights and other intra-network events are organized.
